Principia

  • I offer a limited number of 15 or 30 minute sessions to adults, without charge. This service is offered freely (see "Generosity" below)

  • I will generally do initial bodywork sessions with you in a seated position

  • Safety is important for your comfort and mine. Because I am a man, for bodywork offered to women or nonbinary folks, it's best for another adult to be present on the premises

  • Sessions are offered either at Studio Farragut & 42 in Hyattsville, or in the comfort of your own home

  • For now, I am only offering bodywork to friends, and friends of friends (with an introduction)

The Kind of Bodywork

I am self-taught, and
my goal in offering gentle bodywork is
for you to enjoy our time together,
and that it be a time of
peaceful, relaxed, unproductive ease*When I say that sessions are process-oriented, that means that as we go, I am receptive to adjusting: our pace, where on the body we focus, continuity of touch, and periods of stillness or rest. There is no fixed program, and each session can be tailored to your needs and my abilities*We can talk while I offer this gentle touch, or you can just relax in the quiet (or with music). Communication is important for both of our comfort: I ask that you let me know any needs that you have in the moment, so that I can make adjustments to my approach*I ask that all clients have showered/bathed within the past day or two before our session*For Men:
Sessions are conducted fully clothed, except for shoes. I am comfortable working with any area that is not too close to the pelvis, and please let me know any areas to avoid, areas that need a lighter touch, or areas that need special attention*For Women and Nonbinary:
